Hyva India’s 5th manufacturing facility at Pune

India’s leading hydraulics and tipper manufacturer, Hyva is setting up a new facility in Pune. The new facility will start operations by the first quarter of 2011. Hyva currently has four manufacturing facilities in Navi Mumbai, Jamshedpur, Bangalore and Pithampur. Pune will be the fifth manufacturing facility of the company in the country.

Mr. SudhirChaudhary, General Manager - Sales, Hyva India, told: “The new facility at Pune will focus on tipper body fabrication and manufacture of new products like cranes and garbage compactors. The mail facility at Navi Mumbai, will concentrate only on hydraulic cylinders and valves and fabrication work will be shifted to Pune”.

Hyva India, a fully owned subsidiary of Hyva Group of Netherlands, started operations in India in 1997 and is now a leading brand in the Indian commercial vehicle industry. Hyva India is the pioneer in providing transport efficiency solutions and has recorded excellent growth rates. Hyva started tipper production in 1998 and cylinder manufacturing in April 2004. Today, one out of every two tipper bodies and nine out of every 10 front-end cylinders sold in India is a Hyva product.

Hyva India has established capacity to manufacture 35,000 hydraulic cylinders and is planning to increase it to 45,000 units by 2011 and to 60,000 units in the next 3 to 4 years. For tipper bodies, the company has combined capacity of 1,200 units per month and this will be increased to 1,500 tipper bodies with the commissioning of the new plant in Pune.

Hyva India is the preferred supplier of hydraulics and tipper bodies for all major Indian and European truck manufacturers including Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, VECV, AMW, MAN, Volvo, Daimler, Scania and Kamaz. It has a strong sales and service network with 32 dealers across the country to cater to the specific needs of customers. In January 2010, Hyva India achieved the landmark by being the first and fastest in the Indian commercial vehicle industry to cross the 50,000 tipper body and 100,000 tipping cylinders sales mark.

Hyva India is now expanding its product range. The company is offering truck mounted cranes, refuse collection bodies, hook loaders, moving floor and static and portable compactors.

Globally, Hyva is increasingly focusing on waste management products. In the last decade, Hyva’s revenues from products sold into the environmental service industries have grown from zero to around 20 per cent of global sales. The company has entered into strategic partnerships have been established with Oshkosh Corporation (manufacturing in China), Dennis Eagle (manufacturing RCVs in India, and exporting to Dubai and Bahrain), and Cargo Floor (manufacturing in Holland).

In India, Hyva has made some considerable progress in this segment. The first few transfer stations have been installed in Mumbai and Coimbatore. The company is also exporting compactors through OEMs like Tata Motors fitted on their trucks.
Cranes

Another important area of focus for the company is cranes. Mr. SudhirChaudhary says: “Cranes is a nascent market in India. It is still in concept selling stage. We have started seeding our products in a few places. Currently, we are importing these products. As the market matures and numbers improve, we will look into the possibility of manufacturing these cranes in India”.

Hyva India clocked turnover of Rs. 380 crores in 2009 and for 2010 the company is targeting turnover of Rs. 500 crores.
